The non-governmental organisation association “Idėjų upė“ („The River of Ideas”) is a group of people of different ages and occupations. We are involved in the arts and culture one way or another, although not all of us are professionals in this field. Though very different, we are joined by the same aim – we have ideas and creative conceptions and know how to realise them. Our association “Idėjų upė ” also implement educational syllabus. We organise creative camps of various fields of art for children and youth as follows: arts, theatre, photography or video art plenaries. At these camps professional artists, craftsmen and students work together with youth. Topics and genres of our events vary from graphics and drawing to fluxus art.
In addition, the informal group of youth „Gynėvės vizualinių ir akustinių menų centras – GYVAmc (“Gynėvė Visual and Acoustic Arts Centre”) works together with the association. Its main policy includes theatre and other visual arts such as performance and installation. The composition of the group often changes. For the planned project several lyders can gather like-minded people from different parts of the country as well as foreign countries. Performances and actions are often organised in unusual places like nature, old buildings and so on. Since the beginning of its establishment GYVAmc has realised about 20 projects of various genres from musical to video art works (the group was organised in 2001).
In 2010 the association “Idėjų upė” organised IV Sacral Art Plener.
